Tigers Kick-Off Season with a Traditional Pep Rally!
The NE Tacoma Tigers Jr. Football Inaugural Teams, kicked off this first season on Friday, August 20th, with a tradition Pep Rally! We would like to thank everyone that attended, including the community of NE Tacoma; Local Fire and Police Departments; Stadium High School Players and Cheer Team; Volunteers; Coaches; Parents, and Players.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Special Guest Speakers, including the Mayor of Tacoma, Marilyn Strickland, who presented a Proclamation that August 21, 2010 is "Northeast Tacoma Tigers Junior Football Day" in Tacoma. And, Tony Ventrella, who shares stories and inspirational words, including a hand-delivered video message from Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks. Other Guest Speakers included Jake Fey, Deputy Mayor and City Council District 2; Ruth Jackson, President of GPSYFL; Kevin Ideda, Principle of Meeker MIddle School; and Jess Nelson, Head Coach of Stadium H.S. Football!
Fans cheered on with "Go Tigers!" signs, Inaugural Season Tigers Pennants and a Mini-Football raffle. The Pep Rally was a great kick-off to an Inaugural Season! Go Tigers!
